Service aims

We are a doctor-led service that aims to help people make informed choices and the changes needed to live happier, healthier lives.

What we do

We cut through all the confusing and conflicting health messages, expose the fads and bring you trusted information, advice and programmes highlighting what you can do to improve your health and wellbeing long-term.

We will only ever bring you information and advice that our research suggests can improve your health and wellbeing. We will also be clear about unknown or disputed areas. Our articles and programmes are written/edited by the Vavista Life team. They use the best evidence available and are checked and approved by our team of medical and wellbeing experts.

Our message

We promise not to bamboozle you with medical jargon and science-speak, or lure you into believing in quick fixes by overblown claims and marketing. What you will find is clear, accessible information on how you can make small, science-backed changes to improve your health and wellbeing. We won’t ask you to make sweeping lifestyle changes that are impractical and unsustainable.

We welcome everyone to the site, whatever their gender, age, background, ethnicity, sexuality or disability. Our visual, audio and written content will reflect the diversity of our users. We avoid unhelpful generalisations and negative stereotyping, and ensure the language we use is inclusive and welcoming.

What products do we feature?

We only ever feature products or services on this site that we truly believe bring some benefit to your physical or mental health. If they make us or others we know feel better, or more able to make healthier choices – or are likely to reduce our risk of health problems in the future – then we want to let you know about them.

Wherever possible we back up these recommendations with science, but there isn’t always the full evidence available for everything we do. So we use our team of medical and wellbeing experts to ensure products don’t make unsubstantiated claims or are likely to be harmful to you.

If we feature any product you have concerns about then please let us know and we will investigate. Alternatively, if you know a great product or service you believe can help us all make healthier choices then please tell us.

We have no commercial funding at present. However, running a website and supporting you to live healthier lives costs money and we may need to accept support in the future. But rest assured, we will let you know if that is the case – and will only ever accept financial support from those who share our healthy values.

In the interests of transparency, affiliate links will be notified by ^. If you have any comments or concerns about any of the products or services featured, please contact us and help us to ensure we are continuing to support our community in the best way possible.

We aim as far as possible to make our site accessible to all. We will achieve this though well-organised, clear and simple presentation and content, in a variety of formats (including written, audio and audio-visual). We will work towards the intelligent application of accessibility guidelines and accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act. If you have any problems with access, please tell us as it may help us to improve our service.
